Conventional wisdom is that each of these companies is in competition for a slice of a fixed-size pie. The reality is that the size of the pie is growing at a faster rate than our individual corporations’ ability to keep up with the mitotic pie.

Large companies are forming genuine, collaborative alliances.

Users do not want *just* Facebook products. The Android and iOS dogmatists are getting quieter, more open to heterogeneity. Customers are willing to pay more for hardware and software that doesn’t break at every integration point.

Corporations are opening up their collaborative channels so they can make better products.

Abstractions like React, TypeScript, and asm.js are turning JavaScript into the Tower of Babel.
